  • We figured out that cotton is a pretty crap material for anything that will be in wet conditions, so in the 1970s, we started making the ALICE gear out of nylon.

    After a few revisions, we came up with the LC2 kit. This is the pinnacle of canteen pouch design. It has a lined interior that prevents it from freezing, and when made wet in hot weather it will cool your canteen through evaporative cooling. Pretty wild stuff, that.

    The LC2 has a band of nylon sewn on the inside to add abrasion resistance for the lip of the canteen cup when inserted. Oh yeah, this can hold your canteen cup AND your canteen! As long as it is a USGI set. It may also fit other canteens. We aren't sure and won't guarantee that, however.
